Financial Systems Implementation

Strafford understands the role of the implementer — to deploy technology changes that will enable the organization to pursue its strategies and reach its goals. An effective implementer is someone who follows a plan — but can also change a plan when the implementation itself reveals previously unforeseen opportunities or problems. On-time completion, minimum disruption, and maximum leverage of existing resources in combination with appropriate off-the-shelf technologies are key performance indicators of Strafford implementations.

In general, Strafford follows three core principles when we implement a technology solution:

“Front to Back”

Strafford starts by modeling and prototyping the key user-facing functions called for in the architecture and design. This is the “front” of the solution. Then we iteratively build out the middle and backend functionality, modifying as we go in response to client feedback. This step-by-step approach ensures that what is ultimately produced is the best possible fit within the shortest amount of time and with the minimum amount of rework.

Tailored Technology

A technical problem usually has any number of solutions. The key advantage of partnering with Strafford is that we let the job pick the technology, not merely the list of companies we have chosen to partner with.  We often mix and match technologies and different strategies to tailor a solution that best matches your needs, takes best advantage of your existing investments, and incorporates the “best-of-the-best” new technologies from vendors. We employ technology to fill real gaps rather than create features that already exist or which the organization simply won’t use.

Partners Not Pundits

Strafford believes in working with clients, not around them. Implementation teams include financial, application, and system experts that integrate easily with your in-house professionals, creating a fertile environment in which to cross-pollinate ideas. When we are finished, we leave behind systems that users will understand and actually be able to use. With Strafford, your finance or technology department is not outsourced — it is empowered.
